Welcome to the official web site for the Darlington Branch of the Communication Workers Union The Communication Workers Union (CWU) is the biggest union for the communications industry Darlington Amalgamated CWU branch represents workers in Royal Mail, Romec, Quadrant and Post Office Counters. We cover areas of County Durham and North Yorkshire, from Crook in the north to Leyburn in the south.
Darlington is one of eleven Postal Branches throughout the North East which extend from Tyneside to South Yorkshire. Typical of many mail centres, Darlington is situated on a mainline railway station between London and Edinburgh. Travel time from London Kings Cross is two and half hours.
Travel by road is best done using the nearby A1M. Northbound travelers should leave the motorway at J57 and enter town via the A66 whilst south bound travelers should exit at J59 onto the A167. Durham Tees Valley Airport (formerly Teesside International) is approximately five miles to the east on the A66.
